Botanical Inspired Editorial Shoot » A Twist of Lemon Photography
I’m excited yet again to bring you another stunning styled shoot, created by Charming Details, Claire Marika Photography, and myself. With the seeds of inspiration for this shoot in our minds since January, this green, botanical inspired shoot came together beautifully, thanks to our incredible vendors. We shot it in July, and we’ve waited 6 long months for it to grace the pages of the wonderful Wedding Chicks! “Claire and I recruited Emmily of Charming Details to design this moody botanical-inspired bridal shoot. All vendors brought their own personal aesthetics to the table and all vendors walked away having a very cohesive representation of their artistic work. We were drawn to the incredible Nicole of Soil and Stem for her asymmetrical and untamed arrangements, which perfectly complemented our vision for a natural and organic aesthetic. The dyed silk ribbon on the bouquet is from Ginny Au at Frou Frou Chic. Emmily of Charming Details…

Gateway Bridal | Preferred Vendor Feature » A Twist of Lemon Photography | Utah Wedding Photographer
I hope everyone had an absolutely lovely Christmas! It’s by far my favorite holiday, and I used to get a little depressed in the days and weeks that followed, knowing that it would be a whole year until the season returned with its fresh, clean snow, scarves, family and friends, Christmas music and holiday greetings, not to mention amazing food by candlelight and tree light. But last year, and this one as well, I find myself more excited for the new year, because not only are the days getting longer again (photographers are squealing in gratitude at this), there are changes to be made and growth to happen, both in myself personally as well as in my business! I didn’t take advantage of New Year resolutions when I was younger, but now I see it for the opportunity that it really is, and now I’m eager to write down and genuinely…

Katie & Travis Engagements | Utah Wedding Photographer » A Twist of Lemon Photography | Utah Wedding Photographer
Spending an evening with this couple was definitely my favorite engagement session to date! Even from their consultation I knew Katie & Travis were going to be gems to work with, but it wasn’t until we started shooting that I got to see how passionate and fun their love really is; they are simply smitten with each other. Katie works and is going through nursing school, so she freely handed over the planning and styling of their engagement shoot to me – score! I presented my ideas for a hot chocolate date in the back of Travis’s pickup truck and they loved it! We started shooting at Silver Lake, hoping to catch some of the season’s fall colors, then moved down the canyon in search of a spot to park the truck, ending at a rich rock formation bathed in airy light. I’ve been waiting and hoping for one of…
Why You Should Hire A Makeup Artist for Your Wedding – Utah Wedding Photographer | A Twist of Lemon Photography
Congratulations future bride, you’re getting married to the man of your dreams! I’m sure you have a lot on your mind as you plan your perfect day, and trust me I know it can be extremely overwhelming. You’re thinking about the dress, what your groom will wear, how you’ll do your hair, the cake, the photography, the flowers, the venue, the favors, the songs, the list really does go on and on and on! But something you might not have considered adding to your list of to-do’s and expenses is a hair and makeup artist. I’m telling you now, you won’t regret adding this detail to your day. In many places, but Utah especially, there’s a very prominent notion of doing things yourself, it’s practically a part of the culture. Amazing and creative things have come from this pattern of living, and you can often achieve a very comparable result…

Sydney & Peter – This Is The Place Heritage Park, Brigham Young House | Utah Wedding Photographer » A Twist of Lemon Photography | Utah Wedding Photographer
Syd & Peter’s July wedding was such a joy! It was a hot day full of color and love. Syd planned her color palette around the venue, the Brigham Young House at This Is The Place Heritage Park (if you haven’t seen it before, it’s pink!). You can’t beat golden sunshine, popsicles, and cool, colorful drinks for an outdoor summer wedding in Utah – plus Syd planned for outdoor games like badminton and a train ride around the park for folks to enjoy. This particular venue doesn’t allow sparklers to be used for reception exits, so Syd came up with the idea of streamer wands, and it was fantastic! Don’t forget to check out their summer orchard and lakeside engagement session, if you missed it being featured over on Utah Bride Blog last year! Congratulations Syd & Peter, and thank you for sharing your seriously perfect day with me! P I…
