Ashley & Diego Engagements | Utah Wedding Photographer
April 8, 2015
Ashley and I went to high school together but we were a year apart, and I only met her once when we were in the same prom group together; and now I’m shooting her wedding this week! Small world, don’t you think? Diego is from Brazil, so he traveled a bit further to find his bride-to-be. These two are fabulous together, laughing and adorable with each other throughout the entire engagement session, and not that looks are everything, but they look so good together! I can’t wait to share their beautiful bridal session with you later on, as well as their wedding! And don’t forget to check out Ashley’s lovely princess-cut engagement ring, Diego designed it himself.
We chose a couple different locations in downtown Salt Lake City, and even though we shot at the beginning of February we were lucky to find places with some warmth and greenery. I even got bit by a mosquito at our last location. Thanks, Utah, will you make up your mind about the weather already? I’m typing this in April, and it’s currently snowing outside – booooo!
Wishing you two the very best! Don’t ever stop laughing with and kissing each other!

This post is long, long overdue, as the wedding happened last October, but I’m excited to finally share it with you! I had the privilege to second shoot for my friend Claire of Claire Marika Photography for Michelle and Jeremy’s lovely Louland Falls wedding – it’s always a treat to work with Claire, and her husband Andy is a very talented videographer who was there filming as well. Not knowing the couple beforehand I learned on the job about their story, mostly from the wonderful toasts from friends and family; when the father of the bride starts crying, there’s no hope for me, I’ll be crying, too.
While their venue isn’t actually a winery, the couple’s wedding had a soft winery theme, featuring cork centerpieces with Michelle’s favorite country song lyrics, wine boxes, monogramed glasses and a gorgeous initial for their last name made entirely of ombré corks (my favorite detail, for sure).

Jessica Fine Art Boudoir | Utah Wedding Photographer
April 3, 2015
Another session from my day of fine art boudoir shooting with Amber Reverie and Briana’s Addiction, I wanted to work a little bit more of a bridal theme into Jessica’s session. Briana did a very soft and natural look on Jess while Amber and I went to work styling and lighting all the candles; it’s amazing how warm it got in the studio after that, the temperature seriously must have risen 10 degrees. I used an amazing lace-trimmed circle veil from Gateway Bridal, and the results were romantic and very elegant!

Morris Baby – Lifestyle Newborn Photographer
March 30, 2015
When Nicole asked me to take some photos of her newborn I was beyond thrilled, not only because she’s gorgeous and was certain to make a beautiful baby, but because she wanted an in-home lifestyle session (my favorite) in her adorable apartment. I’ve admired Nicole’s style and creativity for years; she is an art major and a talented artist, her pieces covering the walls and shelves of her home. It was such a warm and creative place to walk into, not to mention the splendid company from herself, her husband Alex, and their handsome little man.
Not only was Baby Morris adorable – which temporarily satisfied my current baby hunger – he was wide awake and interested throughout the whole session, which is pretty rare, those little babes love their sleep at that age.

Nicole is a radiant mother. I loved watching her hold her son, just entranced by him and his tiny, perfect details.

Does anyone else think that Nicole should start an interior design business, or perhaps a DIY blog? I seriously can’t get over how much personality she has in her home! And I’m crushing hard on that gold origami metal crane.

Maya Fine Art Boudoir | Utah Wedding Photographer
March 16, 2015
For Maya’s fine art boudoir session, we wanted something cozy and comfy, yet feminine and flirty. Briana styled Maya’s hair in soft waves, and used a flirty berry hue on her lips for a pop of color, and Amber’s delicate floral crown and garland added a little whimsy. Maya was fun and genuine, which made these photos so much more personal for her. This session was so fun and comfortable, just the way we wanted it!
